Each night at about 9:30, the massive metal press in the back of the Casper Star-Tribune would come alive. As it hummed and rattled, a team of dedicated pressmen would tend to its demands, installing metal plates and replacing half-ton rolls of paper. The two-story press would produce thousands of copies of the next day’s newspaper, to be circulated around the state of Wyoming.

On Aug. 4, the press ran one final time before printing operations were outsourced to a plant in Cheyenne.
