DAVENPORT, Iowa (October 16, 2018) — Lee Enterprises, Incorporated (NYSE: LEE), a leading provider of news, information and advertising in 49 markets, announced today that Anita Fasbender has been named regional publisher of the Independent Record in Helena, Montana, and The Montana Standard in Butte.
“Anita has a wealth of experience in these markets,” said Nathan Bekke, Lee vice president – consumer sales & marketing and group publisher. “She’s been successful in several key leadership roles within the company and will be an outstanding publisher for central Montana.”
Fasbender joined the Independent Record in 1991 as a district manager and promotion marketing coordinator. She also served as circulation director and regional advertising services manager before being named regional operations director in 2012.
“I am humbled and blessed to be asked to lead these teams of bright, passionate employees,” she said. “I’m excited about this new opportunity. I look forward to putting out the most comprehensive news coverage in the communities we serve and meeting the needs of our advertisers through our broad variety of media platforms.”
She has been a member of the Rotary since 2010 and was a member of the Women’s Leadership Network from 2003 to 2012, including serving as president from 2008 to 2010. Her community service has also included the Governor’s Cup Race, Montana Meth Project committee and coordinator of the local American Red Cross blood drive. She has been a USA Track & Field youth coach since 2017.
Fasbender is a 1991 graduate of Montana State University. She has three children.
She succeeds Tyler Miller, who said he was resigning to pursue other opportunities, while remaining the Helena area.
